I am a fellowship trained cornea specialist with a research interest in cataract surgery and intraocular lenses.

I have completed two advanced fellowships in cornea and external eye diseases, at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and then the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne. During these fellowships I have trained in corneal surgery including corneal transplantation, anterior segment surgery and complex cataract surgery.

I qualified as a specialist ophthalmologist in London after 6 years of training within the London Specialty School of Ophthalmology, rotating through NHS hospitals in London, Surrey and Kent. During my training I was awarded the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Crombie medal for the highest annual mark in the part 1 membership examination.

My research interest lies in cataract surgery and intraocular lens design. I hold a PhD from the University of Western Australia, in collaboration with Kings College London and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London where my research was undertaken. My work from this thesis was awarded numerous prizes at conferences in the UK, Europe and the USA.

I received my undergraduate medical degree from the University of Western Australia, passing with honours.
